I agree with the other comments that mine came with NO instructions on how to re-set the code! How dumb it that? I intent to call the company to find out how to do this. The lock and cable look fine, but what good are they without MY new code in it? VERY dissapointed with Eagle Creek on this one!

Lock came preset to 000 code. There were no instructions included in setting the code to one's preference. There appears to be a small button near the bottom, however it did not depress no matter what was tried (3 different people spent time on it). A travel lock set to the factory code is worthless.

I mainly bought this one for the cable which has a good size both in terms of length and size of the loops. I bought it to use to lock my bag better during backpacking commutes or if I want to put it in a luggage storing place. For this, it is a good buy. People need to be aware of the reset instructions for the lock to put in your own combination. On the instructions it says turn the lock handle to 6 o clock, push it down and afterwards move it to the 3 o clock position. If you push the handle down gently you can get to the 3 o clock but it does not do anything. Instead if you push it down as you should the handle only moves to the 5 o clock position, this position is the one you need to be able to get a new combination code. Because the instructions on how to make a new combination on the lock is garbage, I will have to take away one star. PS: Tips for eagle creek is the option to buy the cable only.

This is a very well built lock . Having the cable is very useful when travelling in a place where you are not sure about safety. Used this when we went to Europe while in a train were you dont have to worry about your luggage being taken by someone . We just secured our luggages together in a bar in the train #sweepstakes

I have a similar one without the cable and have used it for travels in previous years. The lock works like a dream. I wanted one with the cable so I could harness all my luggage together on a seat arm so I could take a quick trip to the water fountain etc. Looks like it will work a treat!
