Bought these for my teenage son, and he said he likes them more than his Hokas .

really wanted to like this shoe. I gave it more thought than it probably deserved because I’ve had great experiences in the past with Montrail models and was hoping this would earn a spot in my rotation. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, the design is difficult to appreciate. It feels overworked and unnecessarily busy — like too many ideas were pushed into one silhouette without a cohesive direction. After actually putting them on, I realized something surprising: they somehow look better than they feel. And that’s not a compliment. On foot, the ride is harsh and unforgiving. The platform feels dense and rock-like rather than responsive or protective. Instead of delivering confidence on varied terrain, the shoe feels stiff, clunky, and disconnected from the ground. There’s a noticeable lack of fluid transition, and the overall experience feels more engineered on paper than refined through real-world testing. It comes across as a product that was overthought in development — perhaps chasing trends, stack height numbers, or aggressive design language — but missing the fundamentals of comfort and natural movement. A trail shoe doesn’t need to be flashy; it needs to perform. This one simply doesn’t. I returned them almost immediately. Disappointing, especially given my past positive experience with the brand.

Say hello to Trinity MX and goodbye to Hoka Speedgoat. Great fit, comfort, tread, and style.

I bought these 3 weeks ago. I needed a god sneakercwith comfort and excellent traction. They are soft, comfortable, and hold up when you run in the fall.

My third pair and I will purchase them until they stop making them. The best shoes that I have ever worn.

I liked these shoes so much I almost put off wearing them in fright of getting them dirty or ruining them. I got them for work and they work great, the grip is incredibly responsive, especially when turning over 45° and the insole is doing wonders whenever I take a long stride or a run. I love these shoes and not just because they look super cool.

I trail run in Arizona on rocky, steep terrain. As the title says, with the Montrail Trinity MX I can run on the worst, uneven surfaces with lots of loose rock and feel planted, agile and protected. Wonderful shoes!

Second pair of these comfortable, supportive, and durable shoes.

This Montrail shoe is not only very functional but incredibly comfortable in such a way that any uneven surface tends to adjust to your movements in a smoothly leveling capacity. An excellent shoe for the beginner as well as the experienced runner.

Love these Montrail trail shoes. Super grippy soles that work well on a variety of surfaces. My dogs and i go for three walks a day on cement, asphalt, grass, dirt and woodchips, these trail shoes have wonderful cushioning for all surfaces. Fun colors too!

Love the look of these shoes. Curious how the tread will hold up because i have another version with the same tread and it seems to be wearing fast and some lugs are tearing off. Fit is the same as all of my columbia shoes.

Fits half a size bigger than usual shoes I would wear
Cascades_Hiker
I really like the design, wider support, and excellent cushioning. Good for trail running or a normal hike. If you normally wear thick socks when hiking, I suggest half size up.

Great traction and stability in a very comfortable shoe
