So Much Potential!

I bought a pair after owning 3 pairs of the Merrell Hydro Moc for one reason: Colombia's look like normal shoes and not space shoes! I was so excited to be able to rock a water kick that doesn't look strange. On the foot they look great and the grip on the bottom is fantastic but here is the issues: 1) they are HEAVY in comparison the the Hydro Moc. I think it's the sole that's causing the issue but boy are these shockingly heavy. 2) the heel cup and heel strap don't do much. The cup (unlike the Hydro Moc) is superfluous as a result of the shoe's weight. To say it keeps the show on your foot when the strap is not used is a stretch. It holds about as much as a piece of tape holding a door closed. Then, to make things worse, when you actually put the strap on it settles at the bottom of the heel which essentially does nothing to keep the shoe on your feet. I think I am going to modify it by adding a slit in the center of the strap so it catches on the top of the heel cup b/c there is no way these stay on in water with any drag involved with how they come out the box. I hope gen2 is a better setup.
