Bought the compass for testing magnetism in a college physics lab. Worked perfectly. Was happy about the product and its low cost. Giving it to the parents for their weekend hikes!

I bought this two months ago as a cheaper compass than REI carried. It is cheaper and and feels cheaper. It tells northern direction accurately, but the needle just seems cheap. Previous compasses with the same feel eventually end up with a flat stuck needle and an air bubble floating around, it was ok for state parks and finding direction on trails, has the standard side marking for using on maps, just concerned about long term durability. Somewhat concerned to have to depend on it in a real situation bushwacking off trail.

It does what it says it, it also being clear makes it easier to use on the map.

Simple and works as it should. I'm happy with it and might by a couple more.

Needed a small compass for an orienteering class. This was perfect. Dial turns and has a clear base.
