True To Size, Great Jacket

This jacket is great. I am 6' ft tall and about 185 lbs with an athletic build and opted for a Large. I purchased both a Medium and a Large to compare sizes and ultimately found the large to be the correct fit. The Medium fit well with just a t-shirt underneath, with a more tailored look on the body. However, l couldn't layer with the medium. Even adding a flannel layer made the coat too restrictive in the shoulders and arms. The sleeves would also ride up with the medium. The large, although a bit more bulbous around the body, allowed for a comfortable fit even with layering. The range of motion in the shoulder and arms was much better with large. The pleated back is a must have and works great here. I do not recommend sizing down for this coat assuming that most people would be using this jacket to work in. The lining utilizes Carhartt's Quilted Taffeta which is 100% polyester quilted insulation. This same lining can be found in the Super Dux Full Swing Insulated jacket. I believe the Montana Jacket only receives a 2 in warmth rating due to the lack of hood. There aren't buttons to attach a hood. However, with the ribbed cuffs, this jacket should be plenty warm through the fall and winter months. The interior pockets are classic Carhartt and work well. Same with the two front button pockets. The zipper in this jacket is just ok, a bit finicky to slot correctly. The rugged flex duck is nice but soft. Compared to a sandstone duck, it feels softer. In my head, it makes me think less durable than the sandstone, but only time will tell. I wonder if the rugged flex doesn't hold up as well against wind. I did not notice the 1% spandex, but the jacket is very comfortable. The collar has a cardboard/cheap feeling to it. Overall would recommend for anybody looking for a warmer relaxed fit Carhartt jacket that doesn't want an attached hood. This should be much warmer than the Detroit jacket.

Love This Jacket

I love it! It fits perfectly and is just the right warmth rating for the climate I live in.

Carhartt Montana Rugged Flex Is Nice!!!

I bought the Carhartt Bartlett jacket in dark brown after watching WoolysWorld on Youtube review videos. Now I see the video on the Montana rugged flex jacket. So I bought the Montana rugged flex jacket in black and like he said it is nice!!!. The bartlett seems a little thinner insulation wise but robust feeling. The Montana rugged flex is puffier insulation wise and the outer material is so soft. Almost like the corduroy neck collar. Very nice jacket, and when the black starts to fade some it will be even better looking. After receiving the Carhartt rugged flex in black and seeing how nice it was I had to have the brown too. So I bought it also, I guess I am starting my own Carhartt collection. Carhartt sponsor this guy, he has the best Carhartt videos on Youtube!!! He sold me three.

Best Jacket

Comfort-flexibility-very warm-no stiffness Super recommend this! Runs big though, can't complain

Good Fit And Comfy

This coat fits good, comfortable. A lot of people don't like the longer sleeves, I like that they are a little long. I always have trouble finding long enough sleeves. The length is good, enough room to put a long sleeve shirt under it. I'm 5'9". 220lbs. I have a longer torso, I ordered a large, and really like the fit.
