The black tricam is the best! I had a pink for old pin scars and on one trip I borrowed a friend's .25...it fit so many more places. Now it's my go-to on routes with history. It hangs so lightly, slots so easily, holds so securely, removes so smoothly. If you don't know how to place (or remove) a tricam, now's your time to learn! Your game will definitely change.

These little black tricams are by far the best. Passive or camming, they pass the test. Some followers cleaning claim that they are a pest, but placed well and securely, you’ll all feel blessed!

The. Pink. Tricam. You're not a real trad daddy until you place one of these. Couple it with a pink racking biner for real style points. These fit where no other pro does and lend themselves especially well on sketchy flares where you would never trust whipping on a cam. As others have mentioned, do a dry run with your second on the ground to make sure they are comfortable removing. Once you figure it out, they become a real confidence inspiring piece.

I'm a fan of tricams. I've been finding plenty of placements in my climbing and have been saving on needing to place cams. Great way to double up some sizes on your rack at a lower cost. Also, if you spend a minute or two explaining tricams to your followers (or better yet, practice placing em and taking em out on the ground with your partners) it'll spare you the difficult-to-clean problem these things are known for.

Lighter than a cam, more versatile than a nut. Tricams are great pieces for building anchors. You can trust them not to blow. They’ll also save you cams for that next pitch.
