See what you think of this “Lifetime Warranty” because anyone I showed this to thinks that Camelbak is grossly misrepresenting the term lifetime warranty. They are free to use inferior materials and then claim that is the natural life of that material. In my case there was no wear and tear just that the materials degraded long before they should have but accordingly to Camelbak it is apparently not Camelbak’s fault. Personally I would not define this as a lifetime warranty and would never purchase one of their products in the future.
Thank you for contacting CamelBak. CamelBak repair or replace at its discretion any manufacturing defect in these products free of charge. The Got Your Bak™ Lifetime Guarantee does not cover damage caused by normal tear and wear, accident, combat damage, improper care or cleaning (lost /stolen), non-standard usage or negligence.
The term Lifetime refers to the lifetime of the product. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean your lifetime or ours, but rather the lifetime of the components, fabrics and materials. While we choose the very best materials available to make our products as durable as possible, all materials degrade over time with use and exposure to the elements and a product’s lifetime is a function of how much use it gets and how well it is cared for and not by how old it is.
Moving parts (zipper, zipper coil, zipper pull, snaps, buckles, velcro tabs) will wear out. Rips, tears, burns and punctures, fabric and materials that have become thin or faded due to prolonged UV exposure occur during normal use, and are not covered under The Got Your Bak™ Lifetime Guarantee. Unfortunately, the issue you are bringing to our attention is the result of the natural breakdown of the materials by normal wear. The damage the product exhibits is not attributable, to any defects in manufacturing. We still Got Your Bak. As a token of appreciation, we would like to offer you a pro-discount opportunity to replace the product. Let us know, and we will follow up with instructions.
