The ghost 17 is a neutral shoe, which helps with my supination. They also come in x-wide. I walk on the road daily. They tolerate this well

Ghost 17: A Painful Experience

Although I have happily and comfortably worn Ghost for many years, my recently purchased Ghost 17 shoes were a huge disappointment. The sides of the shoe near the tongue dug into my skin crating sores. Despite changing to a thicker sock with above the ankle coverage the discomfort continued. I

Very comfortable but a tad longer than the last pair I purchased. So they may be comfortable but they seem a bit too big. I ordered the exact same pair as last time and that pair was a perfect fit.

Very Comfortable

I love these Ghost 17 they are very comfortable. I have tibial tendinitis in my foot and this really helps my foot. I love the amount of cushion. It has in the shoe

My New Favorite Shoe

These shoes are comfortable on day one. No breaking in is needed. There is just enough cush for impact but without the bulk and my stride feels free and natural. The tred has a slight grip but not too much as I feel a drag. My new favorite shoe.

I have wore Ghost sneakers since Ghost10. I wear them as my everyday shoes and have them for my sports/workout shoes. The Ghost 17’s were huge disappointment. I had 2 pair, they were more narrow that all previous Ghost. I even purchased several pairs hoping the bad fit was just random and had to return them all. I just purchased the Ghost 18’s and I am very pleased that they are again a great fitting sneaker.

Going Wide

Getting older means that my toes need more room. The wide toe box has been very beneficial.

Quality Construction But Sizing Off For My Wife

I ordered this shoe for my wife. She wore it around our house for several days and told me she did not like the shoe as it did not fit her as well as her Ghost 16. She has worn Brooks Ghost for an umpteen number of years (we are in our 70s) and this is the first pair of Ghosts we have had to return simply because they did not fit her as well as the previous models. A good quality shoe but the fit was off for her. Thanks!!

The Only Shoes

My daughter is a marathon runner who had shin splints & fallen arches. These--with supportive inserts--are LITERALLY the only shoes that we found that (with doctor approval!) allowed her to return to running after her shin splints & fallen arches. We tried others. Nothing else let her run again without pain.

Comfortable

These are the most comfortable shoes I have found for walking. The toe box is wide and I’ve had no foot pain.

Please Change The Heel Cups Back

Have worn Brooks for quite a few years now and have had Ghosts in the past, so bought a pair of Ghost 17 after a quick try in the store rather than the full fitting thinking they would be as good as ever. However, the heel has been changed to a "step in" heel which has changed the depth/shape of the heel cup. Have always worn inserts in my Brooks, but noticed after extended walking that the back of the shoe was hitting my heel too low. They don't fit right even without the inserts and cause my feet and ankles to ache with extended walking. Goodness knows what they would feel like if I tried running.

This Used To Be A Great Shoe....

I wear a 9.5 wide and have worn Brooks Ghost models for many years, but this one was returned. This shoe has a narrower, almost pointy toe box, which defeats the comfort of the "wide shoe" The shoe tongue is narrower, and the edges of the tongue create pressure points on the top of your foot when laced up. The heel is now raised for some reason, which is just annoying, especially if you have any Achilles tenderness. The shoe is not very cushioned, so would have had to add a replacement insole.... Overall, Brooks ruined a perfectly good shoe.

Great Fit

The fit of these shoes is great. It is difficult to find a training shoe in a narrow width. I wear mediums because that is all I can find. Please offer more styles in narrow.
