Came to Brooks when, after many years in Hoka, couldn't find one of their shoes that was comfortable or fit any more. I tried a couple other brands including some newcomers with great reviews but none were quite right. These are more comfortable than any Hoka I ever had and fit better as well. I hadn't even known Brooks was a serious running shoe company anymore, the last time I had a pair was probably 1979. But in my search for a new brand I started noticing many younger very serious looking runners in my area wearing Brooks more than any other brand. My impression of Brooks as a dad shoe was far off the mark.
