I bought these early this year. In total they have nearly 200 miles on them. Even at 100 miles the lugs were breaking off and/or worn down to nearly nothing. Now they can’t be used for anything where even basic traction is needed and will be thrown away. Wearing down after just over 100 miles is completely unacceptable for a high priced trail shoe. My friend has put in more than 4 times my mileage with Vibram soles since then and they still appear near new. Huge disappointment from Brooks.

Well worth it! As a Veteran of Foreign War who has ran miles,

Very light and comfortable. Good traction. I like how it snugs my foot, but not too tight. I run with it only on grass and dirt. I tried the Caldera and Cascadia but they feel heavy and big.

There is a lot to live about this shoe, super light weight, Really comfortable upper, nice arch support. It reminds me of the early calderas, Barely there in terms of weight but sturdy enough for rail runs. The problem is that the toe box is too narrow, and it’s not too narrow by a little, it’s too narrow by a lot. Needs to be atleast 1/2 inch wider my toes are screaming by the end of a 7 mile run. Did the same route with the calderas and no issue.

at the beginning I felt kind of hard the shoe, I ran on shoes with more cushing, but on the second kilometer they felt very comfortable Just an observation, left uncle I felt it kind of narrow, I had never felt this on another shoe, but after 2 or 3 runs it adapted at my feet Great performance, breadability, excelent grip

Great trail shoe!! Ran Rocky 50K this past weekend in them and I was so glad I had these to help me on the mud, roots and rocks. They definitely gave me a boost, protected my feet and helped me finish strong.

Overall this shoe is great! My only complaint is I should have ordered size 13 2E instead of 13 D. There’s an additional top of foot support inside shoe that makes shoe feels a little too tight. Size 13 2E would probably feel just right.

Excellent grip on the trails and snow. A little stiff for the road, but it wasn’t designed for that. Typical Brooks comfort.

Great traction for winter in the northeast in snow & ice. Do not like how tongue was designed. It is not held up or supported by anything so you cannot easily slip the shoes on & off. That's just a matter of personal preference and does not impact the overall functionality of the shoe.

Perfect fit. Light and comfortable. Did a 3 mile test run and then wore them for a tough 50k. Absolutely perfect. Great traction. No sores or blisters. My feel felt completely fine afterwards. Highly recommend!

Super comfortable and love the ground feel. Runs true to size

If Brooks made catamount shoes in different colors I would buy them all.

This is my first Brooks trail shoe since about 2008 when I last loved the Cascadia. I've tried running in Saucony, Altra and Topo since. Saucony for the pure comfort of the fit and traction. Altra because I wanted a lower drop. Topo because the Altra toe box was too big for me. Like the Altra I feel very connected to the ground with the Catamount. No issues with ankle rolling so far on my super rocky trails in southern New Mexico. Love the laces and lace holder but it lacks a rear gaiter tab...I am feeling some ankle bone rubbing from the shoe which seems to be softening with each run. My initial runs have been in the 7:15-9:30 min per mile pace. This shoe can go fast. Unfortunately, I don't have the smooth trails to know how fast. Would appreciate 1 mm more of lug height. No idea what this feels like for multi-hour events. For me, I suspect I'll end up feeling pounded. Perhaps not. The insole may soften as I put more miles on it.

I have been a little underwhelmed by the Catamount 3. On a positive note, the grip is good. However, overall, the shoe does not fit like my other Brooks and is not very comfortable. I rubbed two blisters in the first two runs with them. The materials feel cheaper and much less plush than my regular Brooks.

I bought these shoes for my boyfriend. We run on easy to moderate terrain with a mix of pavement when we do trail run so these shoes are appropriate. He likes the feel and style. One of the first pros he mentioned was the propulsion plate.
