Enjoying My First Pair Of Brooks Shoes
My son kept pushing me to try Brooks and after a sizing issue with my regular brand I purchased my first pair and are very impressed. I look the look of the shoe and love the stability it provides. More pairs are going to be bought in the future:)

Adding These To The Mix
I started ultrarunning (questionable as a midlife crisis) when I turned 40 and spend most of my time running on trails when possible. I've run in Brooks for a while but only with road shoes previously. These have been good on the trails and mud and grip well in wet conditions without being too sticky on rocks and roots. My feet are pretty picky about what I can wear due to tight plantar fascia and these have done just fine! Adding these to my rotation while I train up for 100k distances.

Great Shoes - Remarkably Comfortable.
Out of the box, the shoes felt very nice and high quality. Fairly lightweight with nice materials in each area of the shoe. They are remarkably comfortable when you slide your foot in and lace them up. It feels soft everywhere with distinct areas of additional support. My feet are between size 10.5 and 11. And the size 11’s in these were true to size, in that I felt there was room for my foot to be bigger but that I wouldn’t want to go down a size. I run in a combination of road and grass/trail settings on my morning run. These shoes are excellent for the road. When I sprint I can hear the tread gripping the ground. It feels like having a new set of tires on a car. However, they felt a bit wobbly to me on rougher terrain with roots and uneven ground so I wouldn’t use these for trail running. My favourite part is how secure they feel when laced up, all areas of my foot feel well supported and the laces tighten nicely on the whole foot, not just the top couple of eyelets. My only complaint is that they are almost too comfortable. What I mean by that is they absorb so much of the impact when I am running that it feels like there isn’t a spring in my step. Like the absorption happens but then doesn’t spring back out. Because I am a shorter distance runner, I try to run at a faster pace and the shoe feels somewhat like it’s working against me. However, I’ve also used these for long walks and absolutely love them in that setting because of how comfortable they are.
