Awesome Shoe

I’ve been running in the Brooks Hyperion Elite 5 and overall, they’re a great shoe. They’re super light, soft, and comfortable ,definitely one of the more responsive shoes I’ve tried. I recently got a PR in the 5K (18:35) in them, so they’ve proven they can perform. They fit snug and true to size, and I love how easy it is to pick up the pace in them. They shine on speed days, tempo runs, and races up to 10K. I might even test them out in a half marathon soon. They’re not the absolute fastest shoe on the market, but they hold their own and feel very comparable to other top brands. The only downside is they don’t feel super stable on sharp turns so something to keep in mind if your route has lots of twists. Still, if you’re looking for a light, fast, and responsive shoe that’s race ready, these are definitely worth trying. Solid 4/5.

Complete Race Shoe

First these are sharp looking shoes, I am excited to put them on my feet just looking at them. Weight is great. Comfort is excellent. I have only worn them for an interval workout of 8 dock dashes with 2 mins recovery. This is about a 44 sec hard run. On the intervals the shoes are fantastic, great energy return, solid cushioning, very smooth and easy to run at high cadence. The shoes enable a run that is faster with less effort. The only weakness I see in the shoe, which is more about me than the shoe, is stability especially at slow pace in recovery sections. It's a race shoe and so I don't expect stability at slow pace, I am just sharing that feedback. I am looking forward to finding a nice flat 5K to try them on.

Make Larger Sizes!!!

Brooks, where are the larger sizes, even a 14? Not even asking for wide. With all the Brooks I own, there's not one for race day. Others largest sizes- Adios Pro 4 (14.5), FAST-R NITRO Elite 3 (14), Metaspeeds (15), Alphafly 3 (15), Cloudboom Strike (14), Cielo X1 (14), Endorphin Elite 2 (14), Gara Carbon 2 (14), SC Elite (14), Wave Rebellion Pro 3 (14), and Velociti Elite 2 (15), to name a few.

"Fast, Light, And Fun — A Super Shoe Built For Comfort And Versatility"

What did you think about the fit and feel? The fit is snug but comfortable, with a stretchable upper that adapts well to different foot shapes. It feels light and stable underfoot, making it easy to pick up the pace without sacrificing comfort. Whether on the track, during tempo runs, or light workouts, the shoe maintains a natural feel and smooth ride. It doesn’t push you forward too aggressively, so it feels versatile at various speeds. However, for longer efforts, especially marathons, the underfoot protection is good—but not exceptional—so you might feel it the next day. What did you think about the design? The design is bold and innovative. The "orb" cutouts on the midsole and the overall sculpting of the shoe signal a fresh direction. It looks fast, light, and performance-ready, with enough visual flair to stand out. More importantly, the design changes contribute to a noticeable improvement in bounce and comfort compared to earlier versions. What did you think about the fabric? The upper is made from a flexible, silicon-based material that’s breathable, smooth against the skin, and barely noticeable in terms of weight. It doesn’t rub or cause hotspots and holds the foot securely without feeling tight. The outsole was refined to allow for more responsive foam without adding bulk—another smart material choice that prioritizes performance. What did you like most? The overall comfort and versatility. It’s rare to find a high-performance shoe that still feels approachable and natural to run in across various workouts. The bounce is more noticeable, the upper is exceptionally well-designed, and the weight—just under 7 oz—is impressive for a super shoe. What would you change? While the shoe is undeniably faster and bouncier than its predecessors, it’s still missing that final boost of propulsion that defines top-tier race-day shoes. It excels in training and shorter races but doesn’t quite provide that extra gear needed to push through late-race fatigue in longer distances. At its current price point, a bit more top-end power would make it a stronger value. --- Final Verdict: The Brooks Hyperion Elite 5 is a major leap forward—light, fun, and responsive. It’s ideal for tempo runs, intervals, and racing up to the half marathon. For runners new to plated shoes or those who value a blend of performance and comfort, this shoe is an excellent choice. It may not be the absolute fastest on the market, but it’s certainly one of the most enjoyable to run in. Overall Rating: 7.5/10

Elite 5

Upon receiving the shoes I opened them. At first when I saw them I wasn’t sure I would like them. 1.) The colors are very bright and colorful 2.) True to size 3.) When I first slipped them on it felt like I was walking on squishy marshmallows. After having them on for a bit they felt great. I wore them out shopping and they didn’t hurt my feet. They have breathable material which was nice. 4.) Overall decent shoe.
