Love these pants. . . they are great for running errands to hiking or climbing. I am 105lbs and 5'1" and the XXS is still just slightly big on me but they fit good enough to keep. Would love just one size smaller.

I gave these to a taller friend. They are very promising. The fabric feels great and the design seems very solid. However, if you have a shorter inseam, the knee articulations (probably because of the doubled knee) don't hit in the best spots and of course the way the cuffs are designed is not conducive to a simple hem job. The other pants in the cotton line such as the Ethos and the Dirtbag have basic hems and the knee articulations are more universal, so if you are willing to hem those or pay for that service, they are closer to being more inclusive to more body types. Would encourage Black Diamond to make a few of their designs size inclusive by providing at least some of their designs in extended sizes.

I have these pants in three colors now, and two sizes (one pair XS for a slim fit and two pairs S for a relaxed fit). They are easily my most-worn pants. I generally just wear them for day-to-day use, but I do also enjoy climbing in the looser pairs. I love the deep pockets, which easily hold my phone (or passport, on travel days) with no risk of it falling out. There's good stretch in the cuffs and waistband, and having the strings on the inside gives a cleaner look. I'm 5'4" and 140lbs with narrow hips.

They are comfy but they run large. I think the sizing should move to numbers (6,8,10. . . ) rather than small - med - large. Because I am in between a med and large. Med is too small and large is too big.

I love the Notion pants, they have been my favorite for years. Whether I'm rock climbing, high lining, backpacking, or working as a field biologist, these are my go-to pants. There were some upgrades from past versions, here are my pro & con's. Pros: -waist elastic has been improved, and the tie is now internal instead of external -zip pocket on the leg is secure & large enough for an iPhone 15 (in a case) -same great fabric Cons: -only 1 back pocked, instead of 2 -crotch gusset is significantly smaller

Great colors, comfortable fit for all day use. Can dress up for work or use climbing. Love that the Womens pockets actually hold thing!

These seem like they could be a good climbing pant but they have a strange fit and materials. They have a much shorter seat than I expected for a climbing pant. Additionally, the material was not comfortable and I found it quite scratchy. The seams are also quite bulky and rub when I moved in these. I may have just gotten a bad pair but I did not enjoy wearing the garment and returned it. Again, on paper this looks like a great pant but I didn't enjoy it.

I love the fit and flexibility of these pants. I would give 5/5 if they offered a short inseam for my 5'2 frame!

I recently purchased my second pair of the hiking Notion pants. I absolutley love the fit, I bought a size L for extra comfort, space and movability ( I wear a size 10 otherwise) The feel of the fabric and ability to moveabout while hiking, climbing or just walking is like no other hiking pant I've purchased in the past. I love how the inseam is sturdy and provides another level of flexibility. The slim look and elastic ankle is perfect for my needs. Definitley plan on buying another pair in the future!

I bought a second pair of these cause I love them but didn't realize the fit had changed. my second pair is baggy and if I had known I would have tried the small instead. I thought washing them would shrink them enough, so now I can't return them, but they are still too big. I'm 5'7" and 145lb and the medium is VERY roomy, I need to use the drawstring to keep them up.

I first discovered these pants last year and now I own them in 4 different colours. They are so comfortable. They are the perfect fall/spring hiking pants. We live in New Brunswick where the winters can be pretty brutal, but just took a pair of thermals on underneath and even winter they have been fantastic. I love them so much that my partner had to spend a long time convincing me that the black pair did not count as formal attire to wear to a wedding.

Love these so much I own 7 pairs! I can wear them to climbing as well as to work as a teacher. Fit well, long enough for my 5'7 frame, comfy and so many color options!

Still as comfortable as ever! However the small now fits like a medium, very baggy on me at 140lbs 5’4”. I should have ordered XS. I’m also missing the right rear pocket they had before. Still the comfiest and most durable pant I own.

I have had probably a dozen pairs of notion pants, love how they move and feel. The new styling is not my fave. waist band too thick, pulls across hips. sad day for me.

This is my second pair, and I think I like these better than the last model; the cuff is tighter & feels better. They are comfy enough for a night at home, but nice enough to wear to the office. Great pants. Even my boss asked where she could get some.
