Very disappointed in BD’s choice to diffuse the light in this Sprinter headlamp, especially since I’m a long time user of the previous versions for running. Those previous versions (which I continue to use with worn out elastic) are superior to this product - the previous versions have a directed beam that provides the correct amount of light in the right place, especially for trail running. This product has one job to do for runners, which is to provide enough light in the direction where you look, and this new version totally fails in that regard. It’s done for , say, a camping light, and maybe as a light “to be seen” when running but fundamentally useless as a running headlight “to be able to see. ” I never write reviews, but was so disappointed given that I purchased two of these, one for me and one for my wife that I felt compelled to alert others and encourage BD to revert to the previous lens optic design.

I enjoy my headlamp. It illuminates my path. It tells me where I can go, what to expect, and who is where! It is awesome, and I wish I bought one earlier.

I traditionally hate having things on my head and avoided using headlamps for that reason. The Sprinter is remarkably light and comfortable. It provides tremendous light to the trails when I am out running. The battery has been more than sufficient for my normal runs, and I am looking forward to testing it on my next ultra.

This is the third Sprinter I’ve owned. I’ve loved them all, and each one is a little better than the earlier generation. The balance of having battery weight in the back is great. And I take comfort knowing that I’m visible from the back as well as the front. The Dual Fuel capability means you can legitimately use this on long events with a pre-dawn start and possibly finishing after dark. And multi-day hikes are worry free because you can carry a backup set of disposable batteries.

The battery life on this is fantastic and the ability to interchange with AAA batteries gives me the confidence that I will only need one headlamp through my whole 100 mile race. The top head strap eliminates some of the bobbing and slipping that other models have had and leaves me with a much smoother trail run. I like the light in the back for other people or cars on the road and the recharging function means I always leave home with a fully ready to go light.

The headlamp is bright very good for dark knights 🥷

I bought this headlamp to replace my biolight since the elastic band lost its stretch. Three reasons I don’t like this light. 1. It only has a “flood light” mode, no focused beam. 2 The flashing red light in the back keeps turning on by itself and running the battery down. 3. It still uses the old micro USB charger when all my other devices use USB-C

I wear the sprint because it’s a simple and lightweight headlight option which I often use as a supplement to a secondary light source. Well designed light, which I rarely need to wear with the overhead strap. Tasteful upgrades from the previous gen Sprinter I own, it presents great value for money.

I have had several generations of this lamp over the years from Black Diamond. It was a huge disappointment to have to return the lamp without even using it after trying to do the first charge with the supplied cord without any luck. The lamp stayed 50% (middle blue indicator blinking, 1st full on, third full off) for over 72 hours. At least BD is letting me return it. I hope it gets a new battery pack when it is returned to me. I had to pay for the postage to return the lamp as well - not cool.

Used it last week. It heald a charge longer than any of the cheap store bought junk I have now given to a neighbor.

Finally time to replace my faithful head lamp. The Sprinter provides ample light for early morning walks in the dark. Very comfortable. Easy controls, backlight a plus for street walking!

Spent quite a while looking for a new headlamp. This best met my needs. Pros: Bright, Batteries in the back for balance, rechargeable, straight forward operation. Neutral: Switch is large enough for gloves, probably not mittens, miss having focus, would like a little more downward tilt.

The light output is a wide beam, but the distance is minimal. I like to have the ability to see further down a trail not just a few feet in front and to the sides. I found my 5 year old Storm headlight out performed the Sprinter 500.

Great headlamp, comfy fit on the head, good light and battery life. Sadly, after only 6 months this headtorch is completely dead. Won’t re-charge via usb charger, won’t work with batteries. Not the first time i’ve heard of this happening. :(

Fits comfortably with or without a bike helmet, battery has a long life, and it has great visibility. The ability to gradually adjust the brightness is really nice, too.
