2.5 years of abuse and here are my thoughts. I have plenty of tents, and bought this for the specific reasons of living in the desert sw and getting tired of tents filling with sand, and rain flies flapping all night during wind storms, so I got a few single walls, including this 2 person which I use as a solo tent. I like that I can close this thing up and know my sleep kit, clothes, etc, won't be caked in sand when the wind pipes up. Perfect for Powell, river, and moto trips. Even though it's basically a two pole, it has the strength of a three pole tent, and with no fly it's a quite night even in howling winds, owing in part to the internal poles. Speaking of, it's definitely more awkward to set up, especially the first 4-5 times, but worth the compromise for specialty use. The best comfort feature is the full length side door. It's a true luxury to sit in my tent, with legs outside, and change, make coffee, all with a panoramic view. I don't think I would want a single wall 4 season without this. Think French door compared to a little mouse hole. The huge door also makes it easy to shove my ultralight cot into. As far as durability goes, this thing has survived being blown 500' out in Lake Powell, and since the door and window were zipped, it was floating waiting for boat rescue. Not even a bent pole, and my stuff was mostly dry inside. That said, the fabric is thin, as it's a very light tent, and since it's single wall, you have to be careful. It takes a patch very well, as I've put several holes in it (due to rough use). Another benefit is the small pack size, and short pole pack length. Can easily fit in a pannier on bike, in any size dry duffel, etc. It's an advanced design offering a number of unique design and use elements. Love it.
