The lamp controls will lock keeping the light off after it has been in tou pocket or backpack being jostled around. The switches are easy to use yet compact, being built into the light and will not get sheared off. The intensity of the light is excellent. You have various options with red and multiple white LEDs (spot and flood) and fixed and blinking modes. The light also has continuous dimming, not just high medium and low, so you can definitely get the brightness you need with the battery life you want. The light is light, easy to wear, compact meaning it doesn’t hang far off your head and it’s waterproof to 1meter for 30 minutes. High lumens (300) stays on for 6.5 hours not great but 300 lumens is pretty impressive out of such a small light. Medium which is supposedly 150 lumens stay on for 17 hours. If you run it for a few hours at camp at night on medium you will need an extra set of batteries for a week trip. Lastly it comes in multiple colors. I got the orange one for myself and two different colors for the grandkids. Now there are no arguments about whose light is whose!
