I bought this rope for a 40m project in 2022. At the time, I'd used two other 80m ropes on the route (Petzl) and they were both long enough, but barely, so I had some concerns about a different manufacturer's rope being cut long enough. When I lowered off of the anchor, I came up about 10m short of reaching the ground. At the time I wrote it off to Petzl ropes just being cut a fair bit longer and BD ropes being cut truer to length. I climbed on the pitch again this spring with yet two more ropes (both Edelrid) and am now convinced that I was shipped a rope packaged as an 80m that was significantly shorter (like 8-10m shorter) than its advertised length. Both the Edelrid ropes had 2-3m more length than the Petzl ropes I'd used previously making the BD rope's length a significant outlier. Other than this fairly dangerous defect, the rope was fine.
