Safe,easy To Use, But Heavy

Here you have to “weigh” function over specs. Of course it is on the heavy side, but it has a job to do…keep it safe from critters and bears. Carrying a pound or two more to keep your food safe is worth it in the end. Not to mention, some parks/trails require you to have one, so might as well go with the one that works the best!

Haven't tested it out "in the wild" for the specific trip it was purchased for, so I can't say how it stands up to multiple days of backpacking/camping in a row. However, for trial runs it fits 2 peoples' worth of food for a shorter trip and fits in the backpack. Sure, it takes up a lot of room, but that's unavoidable. It's easy enough to open up once you try the motion a couple of times.
