I love these shoes for trail running. They are super comfortable without breaking in and grip is excellent. I have been using these shoes for 7 years and even though I took off a star for the mesh wearing out prematurely I keep reordering them every time because I have not found a running shoe I like more.

I took the insole out and it was more comfortable. I wore them all over Europe and they we’re comfortable and sure footed on the cobblestone

I ordered these shoes for a 18 mile roi trip hike th the confluence along the Havasupai creek in the Grand Canyon. There were many many water crossings. I wore a thin pair of wool socks with them and they worked perfect! Very gripping and dried quickly after every trek thru the water. Socks kept the sand out and I had no blisters and feet were happy all day long!
Bought these to hike the 20 miles confluence hike from Havasupai with 20 river crossings. They were the perfect water hiking shoe. I wore thin smartwool socks with them. No blisters, no raw spots, great traction and my feet weren’t even sore after that distance. I wear 7.5 and prefer a wide shoe. The 7.5 was perfect size for me.
These shoes are comparable to altras (which I’ve worn for years). The rubber seems more durable and longer lasting! I love these trail runners so far! I’ve put about 300 miles (backpacking) on them and they are still going strong

We love our TR1 Astral’s. We are going to enjoy them everywhere we go!

This is my 2nd pair of TR1s. I shredded the mesh on the first pair doing field work on the river. Honestly, they held up better than I expected! While my first pair was true to size, this new pair was too short, so I sized up a half size and they’re perfect. Very comfortable and rad color. These shoes are nice when you need to be in and out of the water, and need some protection from plants and rocks. Shipping was fast and exchange process was a breeze.

Comfortable: I wore the TR1 for the first time on a 5.5hr flight to Oahu and the shoe did fine. I did not get any blisters or chafing from the shoe. I paired it with lightweight ankle socks and it was comfortable. I've worn them on walks and small hikes with my daughter in HI, 5+mile walks in GreenLake and downtown Seattle, and the shoes kept my feet comfortable. Heavy duty enough for your day hikes and lightweight enough for your daily treks across town.

This shoe is a great water/hiking combo shoe. Traction is superb. Wore this shoe for a Boundary Waters trip and it performed perfectly!

Lightweight with a roomy toe box. Very comfortable out of the box.

Astral, what did you do to these shoes?? I just bought my third pair after living for the past few years in the first two. I put these on and instantly knew something had changed. I immediately felt pressure on the ball of my foot as if the insole itself has been reshaped. What changed? And WHY??? So bummed. I will try wearing them for a day around the house, but I am pretty sure I will have to return them and find a new shoe. I sure wish companies would stop altering a great thing.

I used to ONLY wear Astral. I have gone through many a pair of Astral and always believed I should be a spokesman because I got so many people hooked on these shoes. The Astral TR1 Junctions were the best shoes ever made. Such good reviews on review sites also. Not sure what's going on with Astral as their products and selections are far below what they used to be. I am returning these shoes. I wore my Junctions out of the box for several hundred miles without ONE problem. These hurt just to walk in my hallway. So sad!

I broke these in on a 6 mile rocky hike with lots of ups and downs. The person in front of me slipped a couple of times on the rocks but I didn’t have a problem with these shoes. Light weight, breathable and comfortable too.

Bought these shoes to take on Boundary Waters trip and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. So far have worn with no socks and they are snug and comfortable for all day wear. When wet, hard to tell the shoe is actually wet and still remains incredibly comfortable for wear in the water and on land.
