I wear the Essent Warm High Rise Tights in the winter as a standalone tight for mild days or layer them underneath jeans/ other pants on colder days as a base layer. The fit is flattering and pockets are great when worn alone, as is the high waist and drawcord. I like these tights when worn underneath other pants as their smooth texture allows pants to glide over them, creating a comfortable layering system. I find the tights too warm to wear while exercising indoors but perfect for cold hikes and runs. I have very short legs and typically have a 5cm roll at the cuff when wearing these tights. I am 5'4 and 132lbs with athletic thighs and a 26 waist, and I find that a size 4 fits me well.

The description "excellent stretch" is quite misleading... these barely have any stretch. It is almost an extreme sport to get them on! That said, once they are on, they stay put, but I have to inch my way into them since there isn't a stretch. I am a typical size 8 (american sizing); I ordered a 10, since Arc'Teryx typically runs "small" for me. I just barely fit into the 10, but have managed to make them work.

I have an athletic build at 5’2” and normally wear a size 4 in Essent leggings. For these, there’s no way a 4 will work. I’ll need to size up to a 6 at least, if that will work. Think “sausage casing look” and “circulation interrupted.” Sizing is way off on the pair I received, and frankly, they just seem like fleece turned inside out that isn’t that stretchy. Love the stratus color but not thrilled with these leggings. They’re going back.

I like the fabric, soft and warm and the pockets at the side. I don't like how the seams press on the skin and "cut" the look of the leg. They should compact the whole leg. I'm not overweight and it is not a problem of flesh. Difficult to explain, need to try

Very comfortable with just the right amount of compression. I purchased the Essent high rise 28" in a size smaller than I usually wear and the fit was great. They have held their shape well and when the cold weather version goes on sale, I will purchase them as well.

I use these legging for every kind of activity. I have them in black and mainly use them for yoga but have used them to layer under pants during winter. They are thin but warm and wear well.

Love these leggings! The material is so comfortable and the drawcord is a great addition. Unfortunately, I ordered 1 size larger than my normal size because so many reviews stated that these run small. Nope! They run exactly as the sizing chart indicates. I’m 5’5” and 125 lbs with a 27.5” waist. I normally wear size 4 but I purchased size 6 based on other reviews. I almost kept them but the waist band was just a bit too loose and I read a lot of reviews that said the waist gets baggy with wear. So I returned them. Unfortunately, size 4 in black is sold out now 😩. If they get more in stock, I will definitely repurchase!

Love these pants. I love that they stay in place when I’m running , esp on the descents!! High rise, keep the shape. My only problem is that the material around the thigh pockets are starting to pill and wear and I’ve not even had a full winter in them yet… so bc of that I feel the price is too steep.

Love the fit of these. I also love the sizing metric Arc is using in their leggings. I know that women come in so many different sizes, so just because these worked for me doesn't mean they'll work for everyone. The waist on these for me is snug but not uncomfortable - note that I don't tend to get waist gap, so that is not typically an issue for me. The height feels perfect and almost identical to Lulu. I got these in the same size that works for me in Lulu. Size 6 - I am almost 5'6 and just shy of 130. No muffin top or anything like that. Nice work Arc.

I bought this as a possible replacement for athleta Rainer leggings which I’ve been doing short winter hikes in. I liked the high waist, and the feel of them on my skin but the sizing was off for me. They seemed to be longer than 26” and were tight in the ankles (more than was comfortable for me) and in the waist. The lower belly area was fine but the waist line seemed smaller than it should be for size of leggings. I ended up sending them back. It’s rare for me to send anything back to arcteryx, I really wanted to love them.

Perfect balance of warmth, stretch, and fit. When other brands put out a warmer version of their existing leggings, the fabric tends to be heavier and less stretchy. But the stretch in the Essent Warm Legging is designed to compensate for the heavier fabric so that it's just as comfortable as the regular Essent. The high rise and the drawstring also make for a great fit. It's my new fave winter legging!
