I use this product for downhill skiing under shell pants -- and love them. The fit is loose enough that I move freely and without any restriction. I feel a nice gentle hug but no real active compression. Fabric is not skin tight, but does not bag or constrict. I have found them warm enough in 15 degree f weather to 32 degree weather. (I get cold easily, but not in these.) They wick well, and I never sweat in them even when I do "up top". A 3/4-length pair might be nice for dedicated downhill skiers (to keep out of the boots), but practically speaking I have just push the pant legs above my ski boots and that has worked adequately without significant bunching (my shell has some stretch). Similarly, you can pull these up to be high enough to use with a bib and have the "waist" above the stomach/below the pecs, or they shrink down and sit at the waist when you have regular ski pants. This avoids a cold air leak around the belly and keeps you comfy. They feel as if you are wearing almost nothing. The pocket seems useless but I guess it doesn't get in the way, unless you want to use these as pajamas on a cold night (which I've thought of!).
