Meh

The gamma pants are really nice but with any Arcteryx you buy your just paying for the brand bought these and they are sorta uncomfortable, tightning the belt is a pain and you don’t really have any where to put it besides the really tiny slit for the belt on the belt line which gets really crammed if you want to tighten the pants, they really are the most unbeatable pants I have I feel almost humid when I wear them only do if I know I’m going to get wet and it’s guaranteed, love Arcteryx and can see how it would be hard to match breathability with comfortability

Very Well

I tried it on in Switzerland and found it cheaper online. It fits really well and looks sleek and professional. I’ll test out its water resistance when I go hiking next time.

Needs A Dedicated Pocket For Edc

Great hiking pants for Alaskan mountains in summer. They lack a dedicated small pocket (either side) that does not have a zipper for a clip every day carry knife. I never hike without a edc. The knife pocket clip will ruin the plastic zipper of the main pocket (as I’ve learned).

Always Fail At The Glue Seams

Expensive pants that fall apart while washing. I own 4 pairs of the gamma pants and anytime I wash them, I fear that the glued seams will fall apart. I wear them to travel, and do not have control over what kind of detergents used in other countries. They are great pants but all the glue seams will fall apart, leaving the thigh pocket useless. Any taped seams will peal. I wish I could attach photos to this review. I will no longer buy these pants again. Do not buy, unless you never plan to wash them.

Functional And Good Looking

Good looking and comfortable pants for hiking. I’m looking forward to wearing these for years to come.

Great Pants...terrible Quality Control

Bought these in both black and tatsu and the fit on the two pants in the exact same size is completely different. The black is significantly tighter throughout the leg, while the tatsu fits relatively loose. The regular length in the same size that i tried on in the store also fit different than both of these through the seat and leg and was not just a different length. I love the pants but when the exact same size in different colors is that different, you have some serious quality control issues.

Stellar All-around Pant

Probably the best all-around pant I’ve ever owned. Just bought my 3rd pair (Black, Void, Tatsu). Whether it’s backpacking/hiking, traveling through airports, meandering around the city, these pants are outstanding. They easily handle a wide-range of conditions: I’ve worn them on 60°F days during the spring and in the dead of winter with a -10 windchill (with long-johns). Quality is superb as always, fit is functional and aesthetically pleasing. Grab a pair!

Solid

Great pants. I used them for ice climbing and they are great for any temp above 10f with base thermals on. Still rather susceptible to crampon holes but that speaks more to my foot work than that pants. Love em for standard climbing too if the temps aren't to warm. Solid

Great For Travel

I use the gamma pants and shorts along with Cormac t-shirts, and the delta shirt for travel. Easy wash and wear and great for a range of temperatures. Excellent products.

Perfect Fit

Arc’teryx is my go to shop for pants that have length sizing, being vertically challenged like I am. 5’6” 160 lbs smaller waist size 32 was perfect fit. Not to mention the fabric being water repellent and on the warmer side, perfect for Pacific Northwest fall winter and spring weather. Past iterations of these pants run very small not these.

Belt System Is Good And Bad

I would rate 4.5 stars; the belt can get stuck inside its enclosed path, but open belt loops can be annoying when the pant drags out from underneath the belt, which this pant prevents. Everything else is perfect, as long as you don't care about only having 3 pockets. They don't abrade, and no zipper or elastic cuff has broken in the year I've had the pant.

Comically Baggy Fit

I have been a huge fan of my Gamma LT pants. I got them in 36 long a few years back. The fit on those is great: an athletic fit without a lot of stray material to sway around during runs. So I got a pair of the "revised" Gamma pants. Also in 36 long. I'm a bit at a loss for words to describe how bad the fit is. The butt is incredibly baggy. The legs are baggy as well, though a bit less extreme than the butt area. I threw them in the wash immediately, assuming the fit would be similar. So... I guess I just wasted a lot of money. A truly felt question for arcteryx: what do you propose that athletes buy, now, with these revised fits? I really want to give this 1 star on fit alone. But the material and construction are still good, so you earned back a star for that.

Good As Go-to Pants

Comfortable and in style, you can wear them in a lot of places.

Terrible Build Quality

I bought these pants as I needed a new set of hiking pants. I wore them for a 6 day trip. Both cuffs began to rip through about midway through the hike. The hike was not in rugged terrain and I see no reason why the cuffs should have sustained this much damage. Spending this amount of money for pants that can’t even survive a week of use without sustaining damage is terrible value.

Amazing Pants! 2 Suggestions To Make Them Better

Great pants! I have no complaints besides two. 1# the crotch of the pants are very uncomfortable when siting in your climbing harness. Like the pants need to be looser or extra material in the crotch area. The leg straps of a climbing harness and the lack of stretchiness in the material just crush the family jewels whenever the rope goes tight. Which happens all the time when you're climbing, and these are suppose to be climbing pants. #2 put zipper vents up the sides of the pant legs. Start the zipper right below the leg loops of a climbing harness and end them about the upper calf. This would be an amazing way to dump heat on high output activities. Like sometimes the activity calls for pants instead of shorts (like trying to avoid getting poison ivy on your legs when doing an adventurous climb) but its still super hot outside... some side vents on the legs would give you pants protection but feel like shorts and help you regulate body heat build up.
