Not Worth The $300

I bought my jacket in 2022, by 2024 the back of the jacket was pulling really bad. For such an expensive jacket with normal everyday use in the sf Bay Area, I didn’t even wear it that munch. For $300 to have a jacket only last 2 years was way below my expectations. I have a Patagonia that is 4 years older and it shows no signs of wear and tear. The pilling needs to be improved, it is very unsightly—literally 30% of the back of the jacket is pilled and the fabric is worn out. Would not purchase again, sorry

Pit Zips Please

While the jacket is very breathable, it would be a great improvement if it had pit zips to be able to fully vent it to a thin under layer. I often use it as a layer underneath a shell like the rush or saber sv, and opening the pit tips on the shell don’t cool me down as much as I would like with this layer underneath. I don’t see many jackets like this with a pit zip which then forces one to use an insulated shell to fully expose a base layer to cool down defeating the other values of layering. Even better if there was a way to attach the pit zips zippers on the shell to the pit zip zippers of the under layer so that they could be opened in one movement that would be great. Perhaps something where there is a double zipper one from the top and one from the bottom where the top one connected the shell to the Atom type jacket while the lower was just the shell. If you zipped the bottom zipper up, you only opened the shell and if you zipped the top zipper down , you opened both. Is still a great product but I feel this would improve it.

I Want Another One...

It was the type of jacket I was looking for, insulated stylish and comfortable. An affordable top top quality product from a brilliant brand.

Absolute Favorite Jacket

Absolute favorite piece of kit, this is an addition to my previous 2020 Atom, which has been worn most of 3 seasons over the years, sometimes paired with a Squamish hoody for extra warmth and flexibility. I much preferred the old style zippers but that may be a personal preference. Have used the new 2026 version for a few months now, and it’s even better in every other way. Thank you Arcteryx for dependable adventure companions that retain the memories of our travels.

If I Only Could Have One Arc Product, It'd Be This

Perfect all rounder. My most versatile and capable layer. I'm constantly getting caught out in rain and wind and it's never phased. I love the synthetic insulation, weight and feel. Plus the finishing fabric is solid. It's cosy, warm and comfortable. I use it across all season and activities. Perfect to throw on in the morning, no matter what the day throws at you. I'll wear it on a cold run, under my ski shell, and also to dinner. The fit and breathability are perfect. I love being able to wear it for medium output, starting cold, and not overheat. It's predictable and consistent.

A Long Time Winner

I bought this jacket for the first time about 15 years ago and it was time for a new one. Everything that was awesome is still awesome and the fit is still true to size my favorite jacket for cross country skiing.

Sizing Mismatch?

Love the color combo. Material as others have mentioned, is different from the old Atom which I also have. I feel like there’s a sizing mismatch with these jackets. I have 3 shells all size large and the fit perfect. XL is too big in shells. But with this jacket I feel Like the torso size and arm length are off. 6’1”, 200#, 44” chest, arms 36”. If I go based on Large, chest is snug/athletic, arms are too short. If I go Based on XL torso is a bit baggy but arm length is perfect. Hope this helps. Wish fit was a bit better. Cannot comment on durability just yet.

Alltagstauglich Aber Auch Für Windige Bertouren Ge

Tolle Jacke für denn Alltag oder unter einer Hardshelljacke, was noch toll währe ist ein Wechselreißverschluss an einer Tasche das man die Jacke klein verstauen kann und verschließen aber ansonsten Top Jacke

Basic

Always good to have 1 or 2 atoms in house. Wear it forLayering , city, casual, bike or walk

Not A Happy Customer

The outer material is really thin and easily to get ripped, the jacket came in the package when opened the package the jacket was all wrinkled.

Medium Isn’t Long Enough If You’re 6ft

The jacket is similar to my previous atoms, but don’t trust the pics on the models. One pic shows a 6’2 guy wearing a size medium. I’m just over 6 ft and the medium is very short in length, barely touches my waistline. If you’re 6 ft or taller, get a large or larger.

Great Cut And Performance Exceeding Impressions

This jacket is warmer than it appears on first glance. Quality fit and cut with thoughtful design from top to bottom. ArcTeryx products speak for themselves. Fits close to body, intentionally, as it’s a great mid layer or as an alone jacket.

Great, Hard To Clean

Fits great, fits a light hoodie or base layer underneath without any issue. Great mid layer for warmth. My only complaint is that it stains ridiculously easily and the stains are so hard to remove. I purchased the "Forage" sage green color, and within just a few days of normal use it picked up a lot of odd stains. I'd recommend getting a dark color.

Fit Changed

Fit changed somewhere in the last year or two. I was in the market for a new Atom Hoody and lucked out with the 30% off sale in November. Ordered the color Trail Magic in an XL (what my older Atom LT and Atom SL are). Should have ordered a L and an XL because the XL was too big and by the time I figured that out, the L's were all gone. Lesson learned.

Fc0 Dwr Fail

The overpriced jackets gets 2-stars due the FC0 DWR finish failing to repel any moisture (in the form of light drizzle). If I would have thought quick enough, I would have taken pictures or video to show a light sprinkling rain soaking into the material, zero beading occurred. I was very excited about this purchase and then very disappointed to have it not perform according to the description. I'll take the older, less environmental friendly finish any day over this new ineffective finish. That said, the size, style and warmth rating is great.
