I have been an Altraholic and a complete brand loyal fan over the past 10+ years (I was a brand ambassador for 2 years!). They are all I wear - run, hike, walk, work. I adore the LPs, but something went south on the LP 9s. As another reviewer mentioned, the toe box keeps getting bigger and bigger. I’ve worn the same size for years, yet this pair seems freakishly loose. I’ve never had a shoe fill with tiny rocks as these have. Even with just street wear. The worst part? The grip on Altras (specifically the Lone Peak and the Superiors) have made me feel like spider(wo)man on inclines. The LP9s slip and slide all over the place. I actually slid on a very non-technical incline today. These shoes have <100 miles on them. Do better Altra. Go back to the way Golden used to make the shoes - the quality of Altras gave me questioning future choices.

The fit feels good, it's not often I wonder if a shoe is too wide. Love the return to the original toebox design. In terms of performance I assume I will love these as much as the first Altras I owned 5 or so years ago. They are not black - they're a deep navy. That's somewhat disappointing but I am still THRILLED to have this option compared to grey, neon, or the other ugly options wide-footed runners were forced to choose from the last time I purchased a pair. (That moment where most trail runners on the market were multicolored like a clown show was so awful. )

I have owned Lone Peak versions 5, 6, 7, 8, and now 9. Versions 5-8 have been my most favorite shoes ever. I ordered LP 9 online in my regular size, feeling confident as all the others fit so well. However, the LP 9 are tight across the top of my foot, and when I flex my foot to walk, they pinch across the outer top edges of my feet. I thought I just got a weird pair, but after trying another pair on in a store, and even trying a bigger size, they still don't fit like the older ones. I am a little heart broken, but I hope that the issue will be fixed when the Lone Peak 10s come out, and they can be my favorite shoe again.

Tried these on in a store. The toe box is awesome. Very roomy. I usually have to get a size wide (Paradigm 8) but not in this shoe. Very comfortable. I like the rubber protection around the edge. Only con is that they are slippery on wet floors.

These new model number 9’s are not as comfortable as the earlier models. In my opinion, they are clunky and too large and I am not too fond of the color options either. I have purchased over 10 pairs of these Lone Peaks, and I do hope to see some of the previous features return on future models. These are clunky and hot. .

Altra is a new brand to me, but I'm so glad I've found it. After wearing these and the Lone Peak 9 GTX for a couple of months, all of my foot issues have disappeared and my feet are stronger than ever. Zero drop is really a great way to get strong feet, improve your gait and strengthen many muscle groups even outside the feet. I love how light these are, perfect for warm months. I'm guessing the GTX version will be great for cooler months as well as inclement weather. There are 2 issues with Altra: Inconsistent sizing even among the same line and SLOW shipping including poor communication from their shipper FedEx. The inconsistent sizing is highly frustrating and problematic. I ended up having to buy a mens Lone Peak 9 GTX because the women's just didn't work. I believe all of the reviewers comments including those regarding their waterproof non GTX shoes. I would love to get a pair of hikers, but will not bother because the waterproofing seems poor. These shoes are so great, I may get another pair to hoard for the future before they change to Lone Peak 10 and the sizing game ensues again!

Hate the new trailer rudder. It sticks really far out, making it uncomfortable when I sit cross legged. It sticks out far enough that you can accidentally step on the back. I actually took a pretty hard fall because of this when I was backing up.

I recently purchased my second pair of Lone Peak 9 shoes. I use them for walking on a gravel trail and sometimes hiking. They have great traction and help keep my feet dry if I’m in damp weather. Since these shoes I no longer get as many feet issues and they are extremely comfortable. Love love love them!!

I purchased these in November but due to an unusually cold and snowy winter I did not wear them regularly until February. In April I noticed a change in my gait. Flipped them over and the left heel on the left side was completely gone. I have a pair of Escalante’s and love them but wanted something that performed better in wet weather. I emailed Altra with no response to date. I would not recommend these. Too expensive for walking three to five miles per day.

Ordered the Lone Peak 9 to replace my perfect Lone Peak 6. The toe box was not nearly deep enough. Looking down at the shoes when they were on, I could see the bulge of my big toe against the upper. Very disappointed. Size of both pairs: 9. 5

These are my first pair of trail runners so I was a bit unsure where to start, but I’ve been very happy with my purchase! I love the wide toe box. They don’t squish my feet and they are so comfortable. I broke them in on a few short hikes over the weekend and no blisters or anything!

Love Altra anything. The wide toe box and zero drop of these are great for your feet health. Fit great and comfortable for long hikes or runs!

these have become my favorite shoes for hiking and walking my dog. Normally about 15 mins into any exercise my feet start to really hurt and go numb. These solve that issue for me and their wife is a true wide

I bought these to hike! Very comfortable out of the box.

I gave up on lone peaks because the 8.5 was too short and the 9 was too long. This version is awesome as the 8.5 feels like an 8.75. Nice roomy toe box and nice colors
