I love this shoe. zero drop allows for great knee alignment, and extension. it reduces stresses on the knee. I have the best balance, stride, and foot strike with this shoe. I am mostly a trail walker not a runner

Transitioning to zero-drop. I've put 20 miles on. Still figuring things out, but they aren't comfortable yet. They seem to be made with cheap materials but seem sturdy enough. The jury is out

I have not bought the superior model since 2018, been running in lone peaks. I started working on using less and less padding again and made the switch back to the superiors to find them narrow in the toe box. Not painfully so, but they seem like the fabric is going to wear out from being pulled tight. I like the rest of the shoe, drys fast, fits properly in the heel, tread had a good amount of grip. I would recommend to anyone with regular width feet; if the fabric holds up I will buy again.

I have wide flat feet and these are the most comfortable uppers I've ever owned! However,... the soles make them very one dimensional for me. I've gone through four pairs and love them all WHEN IT IS DRY OUT! These shoes are awful on any type of wet terrain. I came to Altra from a decade of INOV8's and the two could not be more different. I am used to THE BEST traction in any condition on any surface with INOV8's and the Altra is the worst I have experienced. Customers have complained for years about this same problem yet Altra does nothing to improve them. I don't get it. Buy this shoe if you know you can count on dry trails and you won't be disappointed. Just know that if it's wet out these are a liability.

I used to be able to run Superior sockless out of the box. I ran a 50k sockless in an early version with no blisters. The 5's were the first version to give me a blister at first, but we broke each other in. The 6's have been been giving me blisters in several spots with no end in sight. Notably narrow in the forefoot, blisters on lateral side of foot. Top out eyelet corner cuts into ankle. Sad.

they need to be wide again. you guys really nailed it with the 5.0 and i'd love to see that in the next version. even though the durability probably improved with the new upper material, the 'sock with a sole' feel from the 5's was killer. i've been running and backpacking in superiors since the 2.5 and the 5's and 6's have been the best so far. again, they need to be wider. the 6 is visibly narrower than the 5 or any other i've worn. also, for anyone out there saying they aren't durable enough: i've put 800-1000mi on every pair of superiors i've had at ultra-distance days. so please, the 5's, do that again. the superior is the best shoe in the world.

Those criticizing these shoes know nothing about good running shoes. These have great support. Never stop making these. Thick outsoles on running shoes SUCK. These are perfect for your feet.

Even with the laces all the way loose, it's really tight across the mid and forefoot, which is disappointing. Might break in to fit, but that's not usually what I expect from Altra. My last four pairs of a variety of models all fit like a dream right out of the box. The toe-box itself is Altra-standard, but if your mid-foot is all crammed together, I can see why other reviewers found it too tight in one way or another. I didn't read the reviews--after so many pairs of Altras, I kind of assumed it'd be fine. Cosmetically, the pull loop on the heel sticks out enough I could fit three fingers into it. I'm going to just cut it off, as I don't need that dangling around back there. Definitely trying to solve a problem no one actually has... Really a weird shoe, despite looking like the most straight up the middle walking shoe in the catalog. Just... doesn't seem Altra-ish at all. Frustrating.

I've purchased these shoes in hopes for training and hiking. These shoes were really uncomfortable in the arch, no ankle support, and cheap quality. Really disappointed in those brand.

While at first the top near mid tongue felt a bit tight. I was scared it wouldn't work for my wide tall feet. It's all good afer a couple of days wearing them. They look and feel amazing. As for the people that like the 4 and 5 better, Altra sould definitely bring that model back making customer satisfaction a priority. Everyone has a different fit preference.

What a bummer. What ever happened to the roomy toe box that Altra is famous for ? I have been a Lone Peak 6 fan for years... where did they go. I picked the Superior 6 because it was the least obnoxious color. They are tight in the toes and uncomfortable. What a shame. I am officially frustrated with Altra and will settle for a different brand.

The shoe fits for a 13 length wise. Width wise I've been on the narrow side and these are very narrow. Even smaller is the amount of volume in the toe box. If I ran without socks they'd be fine, but the blisters would be even worse. I wore these for about a week and a half before sending them back. The tow box's narrowness and low volume couples with the hinge point made where the laces stop and the forefoot begins is a serious hot spot. I did not go on any long forays in these and they started forming blisters on my little toes where the lace supports end. Too bad, because the feel of the sole and the lightness were both perfect and the colorway one of the best available. Waiting for my credit on these to buy a different pair, will likely try experience wilds. I have had Timp 4s (13) and Lone Peak 7s (12.5, a little on the small side but it was the size they had), for comparison.

I've been wearing these since the Superior 1 or 2. I love the colors! Please consider making the next round of Superiors in exclusively DayGlo colors!

I don't understand how a shoe can go from perfect size (superior 5) to so small I can't get my foot into it (superior 6). Frankly I'm embarrassed and ashamed for Altra, it's redemption time for Altra to rise like a Phoenix from the ashes and create great shoes agan like before they sold out, to this end I pray...we all pray together that Altra will re discover what once made it great when runners rejoiced in foot shaped roomy shoes.
